New Member Spotlight: Meet Ryan K.

If you've ever needed a costume mended, a button sewn back on, or just admired a beautifully painted set piece, you'll want to know Ryan Krause (they/them), the newest member of our time bank community.

Ryan brings a fascinating blend of art and craft to the table. With a degree in illustration and art business under their belt, they've built a career that spans theatre, jewelry repair, and everything in between. These days, Ryan works with People's Light Theatre, where sewing, painting, and problem-solving are all part of the job. Their path took them to Vermont for a stint working with a theatre company after college, before an internship wrapped up and brought them back home to Chester County.

How Ryan found us: Like many time bank members, Ryan's introduction came through the ripple effect of mutual aid. Already interested in the concept, they discovered the Phoenixville Area Time Bank after seeing a post from fellow member Basma on Instagram — proof that word of mouth (and a good Instagram feed) still goes a long way in building community.

What Ryan is offering: True to their theatre background, Ryan is ready to share hands-on skills in sewing and clothing repair, along with their artistic talents — drawing, painting, and creative work of just about any kind. They've also mentioned they're planning to check out Repair Cafe and Phoenixville Mutual Aid to get even more involved. Ryan has a wide-ranging artistic background and they can get busy especially around the holiday show season, so if you're looking for help, reach out early!
