Hello! My name is Jason Frederick, and in July I joined our Time Bank as the Administrative Manager, taking over for David Thompson. Earlier in the year, I became a member of PATB and got to know the leaders in our Time Bank through participating in events and helping to enhance our web presence. If you haven’t already done so, explore our awesome public website and sign-up for upcoming events! When I joined the Time Bank, I was inspired by the unorthodox “one equals one rule.” However, lately I’ve been thinking about the core value of Reciprocity. While some may find themselves gravitating more towards the role of “provider” OR the role of “receiver,” balance between both roles is needed for a healthy Time Bank. So, to everyone (myself included), keep those time dollar balances around zero by being an active giver AND receiver! Professionally, I’ve worked in a number of roles including deployment analyst and data analyst in the Washington D.C. and King of Prussia areas. Over the last few years, I have been studying User Experience Design and Research through academic and self-directed efforts. For fun and relaxation, I enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, ultimate frisbee, and, in general, experiencing the outdoors. Aviation and flying has always fascinated me, so I’ve even tried some less common sports like hang gliding and paragliding. I’ve come to appreciate the importance of community and look forward to continuing to help strengthen our community at the Phoenixville Area Time Bank.
