Marketing and Communication
After moving to Pennsylvania from Los Angeles in 2017, Denise discovered the Time Bank during a weekly trip to the Phoenixville Farmers’ Market. Responding to a request to help with the Time Bank’s newsletter, she now finds herself immersed in marketing and communications!
Denise served briefly on the Board and continues to participate in strategic planning and special projects to advance the Time Bank’s mission and service in our community. She co-chaired the 2019 Pasta Party Auction and has hosted a monthly social. Among her exchanges have been: teaching a young man to read; a pie-making workshop; plant and gardening exchanges; and Days for Girls sewing.
For over 35 years, Denise worked in non-profit organizations in Los Angeles as an advancement professional, serving the education, museum and health care sectors. She has managed annual, capital and endowment campaigns as well as supervised grant programs and major fundraising events.
In retirement, Denise devotes her time to sewing arts, especially quilting, as well as to gardening and cooking. She is married to paleontologist Dr. Ken Campbell. They have two adult children, one on each coast, who work in education and the fashion industry.
“The Time Bank has been a great way to meet people in my new hometown. More importantly, the Time Bank provides a way for me to participate in strengthening our community.”
